API recognized that Independent pharmacy owners needed one voice to create a buying advantage for cost-effective pharmaceuticals similar to the larger chain store. As a result, the API Buying group was launched in February 2007 to address this need. API now has a membership of 340+ Independent Pharmacies (and counting) in the Buying group and makes up the second largest concentration of stores in Ontario just behind Shopper's Drug Mart
